Nanaimo Little Champions has a play-based approach. We believe that children can learn about the world around them through play.
Our program offers exploration of math, science, and language through play.
By offering children a wide variety of opportunities and tools, they are able to expand their learning through peers, staff, and the world around them.
We use loose parts to encourage counting, sorting, organizing, and
classification, and use open-ended opportunities in our day to day
activities that encourage the understanding of cause and effect.
Children will also learn language through literature that we weave
throughout our daycare program. Books of various difficulty are always available for children to explore and enjoy either on their own or with staff, and staff members leaf the children in song, dance, and rhymes that exercise memory, logic, and language.
