Little Champions Daycare WAS committed to creating a safe, warm, loving environment for children where they could learn and grow physically, emotionally, creatively, intellectually, and socially at their own pace.
We wanted to help your child increase their confidence, and self esteem by treating them as unique individuals, and allow them to express themselves in a variety of facets. We strived to make your child’s time at daycare the best experience it could be for them as well as you, the parents.
We were committed to supporting families by maintaining open communication and encouraging parental involvement in our programming and care activities. Our objective was to care for your child the same way you would.
In programming activities for the children we followed the NB Early Childhood Education Curriculum Framework, which followed a play-based learning philosophy. We developed activities centered on stories, songs, math, fine and gross motor skills, circle time, science, music, theatre and arts/crafts.
We strived to prepare your children for their early school years by exposing them regularly to letters, numbers, colours, shapes, name recognition, and new vocabulary.
We regret to inform you that we re-located to a bigger and brighter facility in Cilaire, Nanaimo
In doing so we had to apply for a new business license as we moved out of a commercial building into a residential home for a better environment for the children.
The Ministry Child Care was in agreement of the new space. The Fire Department passed the daycare space with zero infractions.
In the end, City bylaws stalled the expediency of re-opening by requesting a 3+ week delay to wait for a building permit for an addition that would have taken about 3 hours to build. We had already been waiting for 2 weeks after relocation.
To the parents and children we had the pleasure of serving. We are profoundly sorry that these delays have put you out of your daycare and child care.
